Untitled Kaiju Project
-
untitled kaiju project combines 3d & 2D pen & ink paper puppetry, human actors, & live cinema - we’re making a monster movie live on stage, and the audience can watch the drama on the screen and the struggles of the puppeteers all at once. On screen, idealistic scientists in a time of war go too far & accidentally create a nuclear monster who rises up and menaces New York City. On stage, the overworked puppeteers keep the movie going even as one gets injured - & begins to bleed, threatening the white paper of the sets. Nobody wants to be the one who calls hold. We’ve played god, we’ve gone too far, & the play must go on.
